Proceeds from the John B. “Bertie” Cruz, Jr., Scholarship Endowment Gala will establish a minority scholarship at Bridgewater State College. Our minority students continue to struggle with financial aid for college and sadly, this prevents many intelligent and motivated individuals from entering and staying in college. Offering financial assistance to qualified students opens the door to a world of possibilities they otherwise would not have. Establishing the John B. “Bertie” Cruz Jr. Scholarship will help keep open a door of educational opportunity. A sampling of CRUZ C.A.R.E.S. programs include a Computer Learning Center, youth after-school services, summer camp and college scholarships, and family skiing and biking trips.
